7 DEADLY ZINS 2021 - Zinfandel - Lodi, California-USA
7 DEADLY ZINS - ZINFANDEL - Lodi, California, USA
Released in 2002, 7 Deadly was born from a Catholic school upbringing and our winemaker’s lust for hedonistically seductive wine. Seven certified sustainable vineyards were chosen for the inaugural vintage in the enviable Lodi appellation, where Zinfandel reigns supreme. The Seven Sins were related to the seven Old Vine Zinfandels blended in the wine to create 7 Deadly Zins, now America’s favorite Zinfandel*. Complex aromas of tart cherry, raspberry, and caramel are wrapped in flavors of chocolate cake vanilla, spice, and smokey wood. Medium-bodied with a rich, smooth texture, mild tannins, and a beautiful garnet color.

Vegan Wine
Though made entirely the same way as all wines, vegan wines are wines in which during the winemaking step of "fining" that is needed to filter the wine, no animal-based products are used. The most common fining agents used by the wine industry are egg whites and milk protein. Vegan wines instead use alternatives such as clay or plant-based fining agents.

Vineyard Info
Sinful indeed! This wickedly delicious Zin is temptation at first sip. And that's not just our pride talking...Blame it on the Catholic school upbringing of brothers Michael and David or their lust for hedonistically seductive wine. Our flagship Old Vine Zinfandel hails from the enviable Lodi Appellation where zin reigns supreme. Here for six generations, we've given our souls to growing the finest grapes so that saints and sinners alike can enjoy the 7 Deadly Zins.
The vineyards are irrigated by the Mokelumne River, which carries crystal-clear water from the Sierra Nevada Mountains, depositing minerals into the rich soils upon which the grapes thrive. Though not certified organic, Michael David Winery strives to use all natural methods including integrated pest management, beneficial insects for pest control, trellising, leaf pulling and natural mined sulfur for mildew control.
