Vineyard Info
PradoRey’s main goal is to make honest wines that are a reflection of their terroir and that capture the true essence of its grapes. Tradition and technology work together to attain the best of wines that make their mark. Wines from the Ribera del Duero D.O. are characterized by reflecting the maximum potential of our vines, coming from land full of tradition where the whole essence of the grapes is extracted.
The vineyards consist of 8 well-differentiated areas, depending on their altitude, orientation and soil: Hoyo Dornajo, La Mina, Prado del Rey, Salgüero, El Pino, Los Robles, Valdelayegua and La Recorba. In each vineyard, painstaking care is taken of the different varieties and plantars.
Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are the main varieties. Vines over 100 years old were selected from different parts of Ribera del Duero. PradoRey "Crianza" is made from one single vineyard, with sandy, clay and limestone soil of Valdelayegua. The vineyard is planted on a plot with two types of terrain: one part is a southern-facing slope and the other is virtually flat. It is 0.5 km from the banks of the Duero River and about 0.7 km from the river Gromejón.
