During 1476 at the Battle of Toro against Alfonso V of Portugal, was born the Spanish Health thanks to Isabel the Catholic, “The Nurse”. She was who decided that six tents to treat wounded soldiers, were installed, as well the red wine dosification to comfort them. La Enfermera, is made exclusively from 100% Tinta de Toro type grapes (Tempranillo). From our vineyards, all with non-grafted vines, with a slight barrel aging during three months.

Hacienda Terra Duro, is a result of a project of two good friends who look for high quality wines. Our vineyards are over 140 years old linked to respect to the terroir, traditional and sustainable methods of wine production of wines with character. We are focused on meticulous care of land and our vines. All of them have been treated with eco-friendly treatments. With our vines and our Management team, we have reached really nice and fine wines which have been awarded by Robert Parker at the “The Wine Advocate” and Peñin a “Guia Peñin” with high scores.
This wine is produced with Tinta de Toro grapes from our estate One, located in Venialbo. A clayey limestone soil over unbroken bedrock within one meter down the surface and an altitude of about 800 meters which gives La Enfermera its special features.
