Vegan Wine
Though made entirely the same way as all wines, vegan wines are wines in which during the winemaking step of "fining" that is needed to filter the wine, no animal-based products are used. The most common fining agents used by the wine industry are egg whites and milk protein. Vegan wines instead use alternatives such as clay or plant-based fining agents.
Critique Review

“The 2020 Gigondas Sainte-Catherine is more focused and elegant, with medium-bodied richness as well as a supple, layered, seamless mouthfeel. Giving up fresh black fruits, garrigue, and peppery notes, it has fine tannins, integrated acidity, and outstanding length. It’s another classy wine from this team.”

Vineyard Info
The story of the Gabriel Meffre Winery began in 1936, when Gabriel and his wife, both passionate about wine, created their ‘Négociant-Vinificateur’ business in Gigondas. More than 80 years later, the family business has built on its strong foundations and has established its reputation as a leading Winery in the southern Rhone Valley.
GABRIEL MEFFRE "SIGNATURE" WINES. Delicious and savoury from day one: this is the commitment of our Gabriel Meffre "signature" wines. For each appellation, and in keeping with the characteristics of the vintage, our know-how is recognisable through our experienced blending of "terroirs" and grape varieties. This wine is a homage to Catherine of Alexandria, a 4th century poet and philosopher, that the church of Gigondas took the name of Sainte Catherine. The vineyards are situated on marl limestone deposits of the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, with a mix of sand and clay of the Tertiary era. The climate is Mediterranean, significantly influenced by the dry Mistral wind, a high level of annual sunshine and low rainfall, concentrated mostly in the Spring and Fall seasons.
